Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how SentinelWeb(“SentinelWeb”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our website monitoring service and related websites (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the Service:

  • Account information — name, email address, password hash, and other details you provide when creating or updating an account.
  • Monitoring configuration — URLs, domains, journeys, check settings, alert recipients, and any other configuration you submit to the Service.
  • Usage and device data — log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and timestamps, collected automatically when you interact with the Service.
  • Payment information — when you subscribe to a paid plan, billing details are collected and processed by our payment provider. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own systems.
  • Communications — the content of messages you send us (for example through support requests) and our replies.
  • Cookies and similar technologies— see the “Cookies” section below.

2. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service;
  • run the checks, journeys, and notifications you configure;
  • process payments and manage your subscription, account, and support requests;
  • send service announcements, security notices, and (where permitted) product updates;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • analyse usage in aggregate to improve the Service and develop new features;
  • comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

3. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable data-protection laws require a legal basis, we process personal information on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Service providers

We rely on third-party service providers to operate the Service — for example, hosting providers, payment processors, email-delivery providers, customer-support tools, and analytics providers. These providers process information on our behalf under contractual obligations limiting how they may use it.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

  • with the service providers described above;
  • if required by law, court order, or other valid legal process;
  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of SentinelWeb, our users, or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

6. International transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you reside. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers in line with applicable law.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the website and keep you signed in. We may also use limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

8. Data retention

We retain account and monitoring data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Aggregated and de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Security

We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, and loss. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity that occurs under your account.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, update, export, restrict, or delete your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

11. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12. Third-party links and services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

14. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints about this Privacy Policy can be sent to privacy@sentinelweb.net.
