DNS

Look up the DNS records for a domain — A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, and NS records in one place.

What this tool checks

  • A and AAAA address records
  • CNAME aliases
  • MX mail records
  • TXT and NS records

Why it matters

DNS is the first thing between a visitor and your site. A wrong or stale record can send traffic to the wrong server or break email. Seeing every record at once makes misconfigurations easy to spot.

FAQ

Common questions

Why do my DNS changes not show up yet?

DNS records are cached for a set time (their TTL). After a change, older cached values can linger until the TTL expires — often minutes, sometimes hours.

What is the difference between an A and a CNAME record?

An A record points a name straight at an IP address. A CNAME points one name at another name, which is then resolved to an address.
